Les joueurs ont tellement gravité autour de l’évènement Xbox et du Nintendo Direct potentiellement avorté, qu’ils en ont sûrement oublié les DICE Awards. La cérémonie de remise de prix a récompensé les meilleurs jeux de 2023 pour la 27ème année consécutive. Présentée par l’Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, la soirée présente 23 catégories différentes. Chaque lauréat est voté par une assemblée de 30 000 spécialistes et professionnels du jeu vidéo.
Celui qui a remporté le titre de jeu de l’année est sans surprise le fabuleux Baldur’s Gate 3. Le nouvel opus de Larian Studio s’est illustré dans plusieurs catégories, dont celle récompensant la narration, ou encore le genre du RPG. Mais ce n’est étonnamment pas lui qui repart avec le plus de distinctions. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 d’Insomniac Games remporte le record de 6 récompenses, plébiscitant son animation, ses personnages, ou encore sa musique.
Du reste, de nombreux jeux indépendants ont été nommés, mais peu sont repartis avec des prix. C’est le cas de Hi-Fi Rush, Thirsty Suitors, Planet of Lana et Venba. Celui qui a réussi à se démarquer c’est Dune : Spice Wars, un jeu de stratégie inspiré de la saga littéraire et cinématographique Dune. Il a le mérite de réinventer parfaitement l’univers et d’être un produit français. Voici la liste complète des nommés et récompensés des 27ème DICE Awards.
